An Information Output node is the end of an Information Supply Chain where business value is delivered. An Information Output node is identified with a horizontal bar across the top of the node:

This illustrates the two contexts of an Information Output:  the first being where it is serving an internal Business Outcome; the second where it is being supplied to an external organisation.

Output Information that supports a Business Outcome is important in LINQ because it is the only place where value is recorded.  LINQ uses a Business Value Index to measure value on a scale from 0 (waste) to 10 (essential to the business). More information about LINQ value is in this support article.
