Main Menu

The Main Menu is your central hub for accessing and managing your LINQ experience.  Here, you can view and create models, manage user permissions, navigate between workspaces, find helpful tutorials, search for specific model content, and stay updated with notifications.

1. Organisations

You can use it to create organisations, view list of organisations that you have access to, and assign users admin, write or read access.

Here are the clickable icon details:

  • Create organisation: Create a new organisation when logged into your account. You can also specify the industry category and disable warnings for missing data on costs, carbon, capacity, and value.

  • Search Bar: You can search for organisations you've created by name.

  • Status tags: They provide quick information about the current condition or access requirements related to orgaisations you've created.

  • Update icon: Provides quick access to edit or update the created organisation.

  • Trash icon: Delete organisation details.

2. Current Organisation

Shows the name of the current organisation you are working for, as you have named it. You can edit organisation details, create node tag groups, emission factors, and model tags, manage archived models, and request an extension.

Here's an overview of what each dropdown menu represents:

  • Edit organisation details: Edit the name, industry category, and turn off warnings for missing data on costs, carbon, capacity, and value.

  • Node tag groups: You can create a new group of node tags for organising and tagging nodes. It also displays a list of existing node tags you've created.

  • Emission factors: Create or edit emission factors for your organisation.

  • Model tags: Create and add model tags that can be used to filter or categorise models.

  • Manage archived models: Allows you to manage models that have been archived.

  • Request extension: Allows you to request an extension for viewing an organisation.

3. Workspaces

You can use Workspaces to switch between current state and projects and create a new project.

Here's an overview of what each dropdown menu represents:

  • Current state: Displays the list of current state models you've created.

  • Improvement: Displays the list of future state projects you've created.

  • Create project: Create a future state project, name it, describe it. Sandbox option can be switched on to create models that are independent of current state.

4. Models

Show a list of current workspace models (current state or project) you are working in, people and systems, and create a new model (current state).

Here's an overview of what each dropdown menu represents:

  • Organisation model: An overview of interconnected models that provides quick access and reviews of models.

  • People and systems: Provides access to your people and system resources so you can configure cost and capacity as well access to organisation level insights for these resources.

  • A list of existing current state models: The Models also display the current state models you've created. The names shown match those you assigned when creating the models. You can click on a model icon to access the specific model.

  • Create model: Create a current state model, name it, describe it, set up a business function category, select metadata tags, and set user access.

5. Search

Search for functions, models or nodes in current model.  You can click on the searched functions, models, and nodes to access them directly.

6. Notifications

To receive notifications from other users or LINQ.

7. Help and Support Menu

Access tutorials and support resources for guidance and troubleshooting.

8. User Menu

Allows you to change user settings, model direction, node movement, and edge routing style, and log out of LINQ.

The following shows My user settings in detail:

  • Model Direction: Choose how to orient your model view, whether from top to bottom, bottom to top, left to right, or right to left.

  • Node Movement: Set how nodes can be selected and moved within the model workspace, such as "hold shift to move node" or "hold shift to draw edge".

  • Edge Routing Style: Select different styles for drawing edges (relationships) between nodes to improve model clarity and visual flow. There are options to select such as "single angled bends", "multiple angled bends", and "right angled bends".
